Planning the trip....

When preparing to travel, lay out all your clothes and all your money. Then take half the clothes and twice the money. ~Susan Heller

I find this to be too true. Today I shopped for "essentials" or those things I think we can't live without for a month. If I were to consult my husband, he'd say ditch most of what I bought, but I like to plan for every contingency. In the cart went the anti-diahrrea medication, bug spray, cold/cough pills, sunblock, plus various other travel accoutrements. At the counter I was relieved of my cash, took my 4 small bags to the car somewhat relieved that the items didn't take up much space, and therefore able to answer, "Yes it will fit or I will make it fit!" I often wonder how the pioneers managed to get all of their belongings into the covered wagon. Just as Granny on Beverly Hillbillies rode on the top in a rocking chair, so may I have to travel across the country.
